Gabane Santos put their survival campaign back on track when they hammered hapless Nico United 4-1 in a be MOBILE Premier League game played before a poor crowd at the Molepolole Sports Stadium on Saturday. All eyes were on Nico United to see what they would do after swamping Naughty Boys 7-0 in their last game.

But the visitors were disappointing and never really threatened Santos despite scoring first in the game. The win means that Santos have moved two places to position 10 with 20 points from 17 games. After starting the second round on a sour note by losing 3-1 to Township Rollers the previous weekend, Santos seemed to be heading for another loss when Nico opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Striker Thobo 'Fish' Kgoboge was given space at the far post and the former Under-23 international calmly beat Santos' goalkeeper Boitumelo Kediseng with a low shot. Two minutes later, Kediseng was called into action when he denied Master Masitara from the edge of the box.

The first half was relatively uneventful with both sides hardly creating clear-cut chances.
