Santos for pole position?

Second-placed Uniao Flamengo Santos stand a good chance of topping the Mascom Premier League when they meet BDF XI at the UB Stadium in Gaborone under the floodlights tonight.

With log leaders Mochudi Centre Chiefs playing away to TASC on Saturday, Santos need maximum points to nudge Chiefs into second place for the first time this season. The Gabane side has 13 points against Chiefs' 15 points.

But Santos face a difficult task of opening a rigid BDF XI side that is still to concede a goal in the opening six games. Though they are not scoring goals, as one would have expected, Matebele have been solid at the back and any side aiming to score against them, will have to go an extra mile. After scoring two goals against Chiefs' side, which has not conceded a goal in six games, Santos have every reason to feel confident they can conquer BDF XI.
