Gaborone United (GU) have suspended Zimbabwean striker, Sageby Sandaka pending a criminal case the player is said to be under investigation for.

GU secretary, Hebert Letsebe confirmed yesterday that they wrote a suspension letter to the player on Tuesday immediately after receiving a report that the player has been arrested by the police and was being investigated for a criminal offence.

Though he could not divulge any details, Letsebe said they found it necessary to suspend the player from any team activities as he is helping the police with investigations. He said they last saw the player last December in Maun where GU was playing Township Rollers in a league match and players were released for a break thereafter.
