Rollers' Woes Continue

Township Rollers' disastrous start to the Mascom Premier League continued on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by TASC in an exciting game at the National Stadium. The giants have not won a Premier League game and they are languishing at the bottom of the log with only a point they got from rookies, Boteti Young Fighters.

In the other games, Rollers have lost 3-0 to rivals, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and 2-1 to lightweights Uniao Flamengo Santos. Against TASC, Rollers seemed not to have solved the problems which have been haunting them since the league started. They have serious concentration lapses especially at the back and the front men are not converting the many chances that come their way. Against TASC, Rollers had the first real chance in the 12th minute when Gabriel Bokhutlo's shot found Bernard Semakwezi inside the box. But the bustling striker shot straight at goalkeeper Patrick Oremeng despite having turned well. Ten minutes later, Moemedi Moatlhaping's effort rattled the cross bar with Oremeng well beaten. TASC had their first chance in the 27th minute when they were awarded a free-kick in the box but Ernest Amos' shot was well blocked by the Rollers' defence.

Eight minutes in to the second half, Rollers made a double substitution, introducing Edwin Moalosi and Thapelo Balepi for Bokhutlo and Kaone Molefe. The duo tried to add more attacking flair but patience inside the box worked against Rollers. The Tango Boys pounced in the 65th minute when Ramatiki Ramosoka's free header from Tebogo Mothusi's corner kick gave Rollers' goalkeeper, Lesego Moeng no chance. After the goal, TASC became more confident on the ball and defended well until the final whistle.
