Township Rollers have not given up the league title aspirations, despite a poor first round performance. This saw the team finishing fourth, way behind runaway leaders, Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

After its two all draw against ECCO City Greens, Rollers coach, Wesley Mondo said they have not given up hope of defending the league title. Rollers became the first club to win the beMOBILE Premier League title back-to-back last season.

But when everyone was looking forward to Popa making it third time in a row, it seemed all has not been well this season. Out of 16 games, Rollers has lost two and drew six.  There have numerous draws that have really cost the defending champions, even the last game before the Christmas break against ECCO ended in a draw. While they have scored 37, Popa has conceded 14 goals in 16 games. Although Rollers is not the team with the lowest number of goals conceded in the league, it remains one of the sides with a formidable defence. However, it will be a tall order for Rollers to catch Chiefs, which is at the summit of the league table. At the moment the gulf between the two teams is 11 points. Chiefs have been leading the log since the season started.
