The draw did not quench the appetite of Rollers' supporters who braved the chilly weather to attend the game. The fans expected punishment of a team that has given them a headache in recent seasons but stared defeat in the face for most of the game before their heroes forced the draw.

As early as the fifth minute when many supporters were still trying to settle down, Police XI captain Richard Mwanza opened the scoring after capitalising on a defensive error by Oscar Ncenga. It was Mwanza's third goal against Rollers this season after scoring a brace which buried Mapalastina in the opening round.
