Rollers Suffer Again

Township Rollers suffered their second consecutive defeat when they were beaten 3-2 by a highly-charged TAFIC in an entertaining Mascom Premier League clash at the UB Stadium on Saturday.

After an embarrassing 3-1 loss to Extension Gunners the previous weekend, Rollers' supporters came to the Saturday's game hoping that their side will redeem itself. But it was never to be, as the players wasted numerous chances to donate three points to TAFIC. Onalethata Tshekiso, Moemedi 'Jomo' Moatlhaping and Bernard Semakwezi were the main culprits.

Rollers started well and Edwin Olerile was unfortunate when his shot missed the target in the third minute. TAFIC did not disappoint and gave as much as they got as captain Tamocha Bedi and Lindani Dube proved a nuisance to Rollers' defence. TAFIC got a lucky break in the 29th minute when referee Tebogo Ramocha awarded them a penalty after Rollers' goalkeeper Goitseone 'Shakes' Morake, was adjudged to have committed a foul. Dube did not disappoint when he converted from the spot. The goal spurred the visitors on but they did not maintain the tempo for long.
