Rollers sack Madinda

Struggling Premier League giants, Township Rollers have sacked their head coach, Madinda Ndlovu after a string of poor results. Reports say the decision was taken after a heated management meeting in Gaborone on Sunday afternoon. Those in the know say that Ndlovu's sacking has been in the pipeline for sometime. While Rollers' management will be searching for a replacement, it is expected that Oupa Kowa and Mmoni 'States' Segopolo will hold the fort against Santos this weekend. Ndlovu was on the bench on Saturday when his side suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat to BMC in Lobatse.

A reliable source at Rollers told Mmegi Sport yesterday that Ndlovu will be served with his dismissal letter this evening. The Zimbabwean coach is reported to have gone to his country after the weekend loss. "We've been patient enough but we could not take the poor showing anymore. It has been difficult to take such a decision but we cannot risk losing our support base," said the source.

The source added that after the Coca-Cola Cup saga when Rollers were locked out of the final, they excused the coach for the poor results because they felt that the players were affected psychologically. "Now we can't feel for him anymore because we gave him all what he wanted," he said.
