Rollers' judgement this week

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC) is expected to give a decision on the Township Rollers-Orange sponsorship dispute this week. The dispute was heard at Lekidi Football Centre on Tuesday.

The case arose after Rollers got sponsorship from Orange cellular company, the main competitors of Premier League sponsors Mascom. The BFA has opposed the Orange sponsorship saying it is in breach of the Premier League contract with Mascom.

This is mainly because Rollers are required to promote Orange during a competition sponsored by their rivals. Chances are that the matter will not be put to rest even after the DC has made a decision. At the hearing on Tuesday, the BFA and its Premier League Committee (PLC) said that there was a contract between them and Mascom though it was only signed in January this year while Rollers obtained their sponsorship from Orange in December.
