Rollers deny interest in Chiefs' coach

"I do not know anything to that effect. We have advertised the coach's post in the newspapers and the deadline is Friday (today). From the applications we perused, there is no application from Sithole," Loeto said. Rollers' coaching post fell vacant after the departure of 'consultant' David Bright and the sacking of Daniel 'Chico' Nare, who was also from Chiefs. Reports linking Sithole with Popa have been spreading like veldfire after the Zambian missed Chiefs' training for almost a week. But Loeto says that he is surprised by the allegations. He could not deny or confirm whether they are interested in Sithole's services. He pointed out that because the job was advertised in the media, everybody, including Sithole, is allowed to apply.
"After we have collected all applications, we would officially conduct interviews for the short-listed," said Loeto. Sithole could not be reached for comment at press time, as he did not answer his mobile phone. But Chiefs' spokesman Clifford Mogomotsi said people are blowing the absence of the coach out of proportion. "Our coach has returned from Zambia and we are expecting him to join the team soon.
