Rollers' Defence Worry Bright

Township Rollers' coach, David Bright has conceded that the team's weakest department is the defence.

He said that when Rollers made recruitments during the last transfer window, they concentrated more on the midfield and the striking force than the defence.

He told Monitor Sport on Friday that it is important to build a team starting from the defence. "When you have a solid defence, any goal that you score can give you three points," he said. He added that in the January transfer window, it would be vital for the club to recruit about four central defenders to sort out the problems at the back, which have been very costly. Rollers have played five matches and conceded 10 goals since the season started. Bright said that in the remaining games before the January window, they are working on trying to solve the defensive problem. He praised his charges for their sterling performance in the 2-2 draw against Notwane in the midweek. He said that it would be wrong for clubs to judge Rollers by their current second from bottom position in the standings. This is because Rollers remain one of the strongest clubs in the league.
