National champions, Township Rollers are yet to decide whether to take part in next season’s CAF Champions League. Yesterday the club spokesperson, Phempherethe Pheto told Mmegi Sport that they are still to meet and make a decision on the matter. He said a meeting will be held after the return of a board member who is out of the country to discuss whether to take part in Africa’s premier club competition.

“We expect him to arrive today (Wednesday) and a meeting will be set up where a decision will be made,” Pheto said. He stated that CAF competitions are important but clubs can only participate in them if they have enough money.  Mochudi Centre Chiefs represented the country in CAF Champions League this season but crashed out in the preliminary round to Zimbabwean giants, Dynamos. Gaborone United (GU) took part in the CAF Confederations Cup, but faltered in the first round against South African side, Supersport United.

Pheto said the mood at Rollers following the Premier League success is very good given their record this season. “We are very happy with this achievement. And I can tell you that we are not only excited that we eventually won the title, but again we have been the most successful club this season.
