The Botswana Football Association (BFA) revenue from gate takings has shrunk due to fewer national team games and the non-availability of the National Stadium, which is undergoing renovations.

Presenting the BFA financial report during the association's general assembly on Saturday, treasurer, David Kandjii said only P180,625 was realised from the turnstiles. He did not give the previous figures.  However, the figure is projected to rise in 2011 provided the National Stadium, with a seating capacity of 20,000, is available.

At the moment, the national teams play their home matches at the UB Stadium, with a capacity of 8,000. Next year, the BFA expects P1,798,850 from gate takings as the Zebras are involved in qualifying matches for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations while the Under-23 side will participate in the qualifiers for the Olympic and All-Africa Games. The amount of money from the gates is estimated to increase to P2,068,677 in 2012.
