Senior national team players who had announced their retirement after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Equatorial Guinea/Gabon have made a U-turn and will take part in the ongoing 2014 World Cup and 2013 AFCON qualifiers.

Six players - Diphetogo 'Dipsy' Selolwane, Modiri Marumo, Pontsho Moloi, Patrick Motsepe, Ndiyapo Letsholathebe and Tshepo Motlhabankwe had previously informed the coach they were withdrawing from international football. However, all the players, save for Selolwane, have agreed to return to the national team fold after fruitful talks with national team coach Stanley Tshosane.

While Motsepe, Motlhabankwe and Letsholathebe still took part in the opening two games of the World Cup campaign against Central African Republic (CAR) and South Africa, Moloi and Marumo excused themselves.Moloi, who had a good season in Mochudi Centre Chiefs' colours, confirmed meeting Tshosane a fortnight ago and agreeing to continue representing the country. "My absence from the squad is an issue I discussed with the coach, but I should be available for the next game. I met with him two weeks ago," Moloi told Mmegi Sport. "I have played for the national side for the past 15 years from Under 17 level, you cannot trade representing your country for anything," he added.
