Administration: Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) suffered a destructive power struggle just a couple of years back, with the respected Moses Bantsi forced to bounce back. There has been relative calm in recent times at the country’s most decorated code. Already five of the six athletes who have qualified for the biggest sporting event, the Olympics are from athletics. But the BAA has faced criticism over their neglect of long distance races, instead focusing on the shorter versions. Their communications department could do better in ensuring visibility.
