Once a formidable side in Botswana football before they vanished into oblivion for years, it was celebration time for Tlokweng residents when the team made a long-awaited return to top-flight football at the beginning of the season.
However, they found the going tough despite brave performances early in the first round. Failure to get the results saw them hiring coaches with monotonous regularity. With two tough games left against newly-crowned champions, Township Rollers, and Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Black Peril could end the season with only four victories and three draws. The fight to decide who joins them in the First Division looks set to be decided on the last day. The upset of the weekend was Miscellaneous' 4-1 hammering of Uniao Flamengo Santos. They leapfrogged their neighbours, Motlakase, to position 14 with 23 points. Motlakase's 2-2 draw against ECCO City Greens saw them surrender their 14th position to Miscellaneous. They now face two weeks of anxious waiting to know their fate. They next play TAFIC before wrapping up the season against Nico United. Miscellaneous will lock horns with unpredictable Police XI before a do-or-die encounter against TASC who are also fighting for their life in the Premier League. TASC's 2-2 draw against Notwane was enough to keep them 13th but one point separates them and Miscellaneous. Before their last match against Miscellaneous, TASC will take on Gaborone United (GU) this Saturday.
