FRANCISTOWN: A delegation of Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) officials will be in Francistown on January 28 to discuss hosting of this year's edition of the Botswana Games with city council authorities.

The biennial games are billed for December. A delegation that will spend a week in the city will also assess the facilities that are expected to host the games. The Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) chairperson Solly Reikeletseng, who proposed that the games be held in the city early last year, revealed this to Mmegi Sport this week.

"We will be sending a delegation made up of some members of the BNSC management to the city on  January 28. They will discuss issues surrounding the hosting of this year's Botswana Games with the city council authorities as well as hatch a plan as to how preparations for the games will begin. The delegation will also assess facilities like the sporting fields to see how they can be improved in readiness to host the games. After meeting city council officials, we will immediately appoint a Local Organising Committee (LOC) from the city that will be tasked with preparing for the games," he said.
