If the new Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, Maclean Letshwiti expected a clean match, he was crudely reminded of the rough tackles ahead when referees flashed the first card over the weekend.

It was an unwelcome reminder of the turbulence he faces for the next four years.

After promises of a smooth start to the league, the ‘beautiful’ game was rocked when four of the eight BTC Premiership games were cancelled after referees decided to stay away over a P500,000 debt, dating back to last December.
