FRANCISTOWN: Referee Joshua Bondo spoilt a game that had all the ingredients of a thriller when his controversial decisions made sure that Gaborone United (GU) and ECCO City Greens drew 0-0 in a be MOBILE Premier League clash in Francistown on Saturday.

On two occasions in the first half, he disallowed two ECCO goals for offside. In the first instance, ECCO orchestrated an enterprising attack from the left when the stylish Mandlaenkosi 'Sukunyetsa' Sibanda found Malepa 'Chipa' Bolelang in a good position in the penalty area. The striker blasted a shot that left GU goalkeeper, Raphael Nthwane sprawled helplessly on the ground. As ECCO supporters rose up to celebrate, they were stunned when Bondo disallowed the goal. It was the same story when Bolelang rose above GU defenders to nod home.

Surprisingly, after the game, it was GU coach, Mike Sithole who was more vociferous in condemning Bondo. He said the referee intimidated his players throughout the game.
