Gaborone United (GU) staged a dramatic comeback to overcome relegation-threatened Jwaneng Comets 3-2 in a thrilling Mascom Premier League game at the National Stadium on Sunday. It was red-hot Zimbabwean striker Sageby Sandaka with a brace in the second half and Gothata Samoenza opener that did the trick for the Reds.

Sandaka joined GU at the start of the second round but he has already scored 10 goals. His exploits have made life very difficult for the Jwaneng side in their fight against relegation. For GU, it was yet another good day after a terrible first round. Memories of the bad days for the Reds appeared revived when Comets raced into a 2-0 lead. Boiki Katlholelo capitalised on a rebound in the 16th minute after GU's goalkeeper Kgosietsile Senjoba failed to handle a shot. GU tried to get themselves back into the game but could not break Comets' defence. Lanky midfielder, Itayi Gwandu nearly pulled one back for GU in the 33rd minute but his header from Tshepo 'Schoolboy' Molefe missed the target by a whisker. With GU now putting on more pressure for an equaliser, a long ball from the back by Comets found Botlhe Rankgomo one on one with Senjoba and the midfielder coolly finished to put Comets 2-0 up in the 40th minute. But the celebrations were short-lived as left back, Samoenza reduced the deficit with a good shot just before the halftime break.

Both sides were more lively in the second half with GU coach, Luke Masomere making a quick substitution in the 54th minute by pulling out Kgosiemang Ngwako for Mosalagae 'City' Gaborone. A minute later, Sandaka produced his magic when his rocket from outside the 18th area powered into the net.
