Ramatlhakwana fails to make grade in the UK

Zebras' striker Jerome Ramatlhakwana has failed to make the grade at English Division Two side, Bradford City after new coach Phil Parkinson indicated he does not need his services.

Former boss Peter Jackson had said he desperately needed an experienced forward to beef up his attacking ranks and was assessing the Botswana striker, but had to leave the club in a huff early this week. As the summer transfer window closed on Wednesday evening, City new boss Parkinson managed to snap up a young striker ahead of the deadline. On a late evening for City's staff, Parkinson picked up the signatures of Tottenham Hotspurs' product - 21-year-old striker Terry Dixon - and Hull City winger Jamie Devitt on a loan deal until January.

Indications are that Ramatlhakwana will now try his luck in Belgium after linking up with the national team in Togo ahead of Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Lome. Ramatlhakwana's South Africa-based agent, Miguel Paiva, said the Botswana Football Association (BFA) was making arrangements to fly their star striker to Lome. He, however, refused to shed light on Ramatlhakwana's trial and prospects in Belgium.
