Radipotsane brands Pilikwe United

Fobby Radipotsane, the founder of Second Division side, Pilikwe United, has started branding the club. He told Mmegi Sport that the club has adopted the royal blue and white colours made famous by Chelsea and the slogan, 'Naledi ya Rametsana'.

He said his side has adopted the colours because of the scenic Pilikwe hill. "When you look at the Pilikwe hill from a distance, it almost looks blue and there is an abundance of white flowers in the area, so that is why we chose to use those two colours," he explained.

He said the slogan is derived from a story he heard from his forebears who claim that a star led them though their trek from Serowe to Rametsana. They finally ended in Pilikwe to join their leader, Tshekedi Khama after his fall out with his nephew and first president Seretse Khama, thus 'Naledi ya Rametsana'. Radipotsane said he founded the club to bridge the gap left by the collapse of popular Pilikwe football sides like Freeburghers and Young City Giants. Freeburghers used to be a mighty team that produced soccer legends such as Oris Radipotsane (brother to Fobby) and Trigger Molelekwa.
