Put upbeat ahead of Zambia clash

Burkina Faso coach, Paul Put says his players have a chance to write history against champions Zambia today.

A draw or win over Zambia at Mbombela Stadium this afternoon will see Burkina Faso qualify to the quarterfinals for the first time since 1998 when they hosted the event."I don't need to motivate them they know very well what is at stake because the can write history," Put said.

"And we can do everything possible to get the result against Zambia." Put said Burkina Faso's 1-1 draw against Nigeria in their opening game on January 21 and 4-0 win over Ethiopia on the 25th, a match they won with just 10 men, was enough motivation for Tuesday's crucial game. Burkina Faso lead Group C on four points, two more than Zambia and Nigeria, while Ethiopia are bottom on one point heading into the final Group C games today."It will not be easy, it will be a tough game, but I think we have also played tough games already against Nigeria and Ethiopia and we will do everything possible to win this game," Put said.(Supersport)
