Probe into National Stadium mess begins

In the latest chapter of a comedy of errors, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology has tasked a local company, AJ Consult to carry out an audit on the controversial National Stadium renovation project.  The stadium will be handed over to AJ Consult today as investigations into what led to delays in the pitch handover commence.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology principal public relations officer, Christopher Nyanga, told Mmegi Sport yesterday that AJ Consult is on a fact-finding mission. "They are investigating what led to the current situation.  They will scrutinise the design and the actual construction work of the pitch.  They will then make recommendations going forward. "Our position (as government) is that the pitch is not in a condition to be handed over for use, but the consultant insists it is.  We have informed the consultant of our decision to engage AJ Consult," Nyanga said.
