Pro-Guard powers women football

The Women Football Commission (WFC) chairperson Senki Sesinyi has said the sponsorship they recently got for a two-weekend tournament has come as a challenge to them.

He said the time has come to show that local women can do better in football. He believes the sponsorship is a milestone in women football development. "We believe we can make it with the little that we have," Sesinyi said at the first phase of the tournament last weekend. He was happy that spectators came in large numbers for the event and this is good for players' morale.

He said it is a good thing that the tournament came at a time when teams are preparing for the league. As a strategy to attract more sponsors, the WFC  will invite representatives of various companies this weekend to come and see that women can play what has been men's game for ages. Security company, Pro-Guard, has donated P15,000 to sponsor the tournament that is expected to be an annual event.
