Team manager Kgosietsile Loeto told Mmegi Sport that though the team has dropped many valuable points since the beginning of the season, their chances of surviving the chop are still good. However, Loeto has conceded that it would be unrealistic for them to aim for a top four finish. "We are confident about avoiding relegation but we do not have to be too ambitious. We are in the building process where a lot of players are still learning and the focus should be on sustaining ourselves and setting new, higher targets in the next season," Loeto told Mmegi Sport.
Although the team lacked depth and balance, Loeto emphasised that their major shortfall has been the failure to score goals. This shortcoming has prompted a search for a new striker as has been advertised. "We have lost most of our games by a 1-0 margin and this clearly demonstrates a lack of fire power. We need a total of five players to beef up the squad and while we might get some from our development side we want a mature player for the striking position which is why we advertised for a position of a striker," he said. Although the team has been criticised for keeping an aging squad, Loeto noted that they have a youthful squad whose average age is 25 years. Prisons still has 38-year-old former Zebras centre-back Kabelo Kgosiang, veteran striker Tatenda Mbikiwa (35) and 37-year-old Kabelo Motlhabane in their books.
