Premier League transfer deals getting messier

Over the years, the Premier League has progressively witnessed some messy transfers, which have spilled beyond the country's borders. Staff Writer MQONDISI DUBE and Correspondent THATO KALA looks at some of the bungled deals.

In 2008, a blueprint to guide local football towards professionalism was drafted in the comfort of an air-conditioned Phakalane conference room at the Bosele hotel in Selebi-Phikwe.Subsequently the blueprint came to be known as the Bosele Declaration.

The document envisaged, among other things, a professional Premier League by 2012. All Premier League clubs were expected to have contracts with their players. However, the absence of such documents is a source of discontent as players dump their clubs. In the process, a messy trend has emerged as players switch clubs with gay abandon.
