KWEKWE: Botswana's preparations for the upcoming Division Seven International Cricket Council (ICC) qualifiers got off to a poor start after two weekend defeats at the hands of Zimbabwean outfit, Midwest Rhinos.

Rhinos, coached by former Australian player, Jason Gillespie made light work of the Botswana national side in two 50 over friendly matches played in Kwekwe. After notching 113 all out, Botswana lost the first match by 150 runs after Rhinos posted 263-7 with Solomon Mire getting 102 runs and claiming two wickets.

In Sunday's second match, Rhinos got 307-5 after 50 overs, a target that proved beyond Botswana's reach.
