The Zebras continue to be dogged by poor preparations with a looming World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia in March.

The national side is fresh from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Angola in a practice match on Sunday. Coach Stanley Tshosane, who has often been used as a sacrificial lamb in the team's winless run, would be a worried man as his side prepares for the tough trip to Addis Ababa.

The Zebras find themselves at the bottom of their group and desperately need to breathe life into a stuttering campaign. The team has one point in a group that has Central Africa Republic, South Africa and Ethiopia.Tshosane said he had sent a programme to the Botswana Football Association (BFA), which would have seen the Zebras come together twice, in November and December with a third camp scheduled for late January. However, the Zebras' first game of the year came through fortuitous circumstances after Angola invited them for a friendly match last Sunday.Angola is preparing for the AFCON finals, which kick off in South Africa on Saturday. If Angola had not arranged a friendly, the Zebras could still be without a match since their 4-1 defeat against Mali last October. The new BFA administration had promised to ring changes and improve preparations despite a worsening financial situation at the association.
