Police XI's pursuit for a top eight finish has gathered pace in recent weeks, but faces a fresh challenge when the side confronts Township Rollers at Otse Police College tomorrow.

League action resumes after paving way for Coke Cup action last weekend. At the start of the second round, Police XI were fighting for survival, but the recent resurgence has now seen them chasing a top eight finish. They are eighth on the log, while their opponents are second with their chances of retaining the league almost none.

The game will see Police XI midfielder, Mohammed Chawila face his old club after being deemed surplus to requirements at the beginning of the year. He, together with Betsho Pius, David Makakaba and Farasai Nyamunamwendo are expected to give Rollers' rearguard a torrid time. Rollers welcome back key players, Mogakolodi Ngele and Ntesang Simanyana who were attending trials at South African Premiership side, Platinum Stars. The duo have been Rollers' danger men when going forward although they were tightly marked last weekend in the Coca-Cola Cup match against Killer Giants. Struggling Great North Tigers (GNT) are expected to be in high spirits tomorrow when they meet Extension Gunners in Francistown. GNT forced a 1-1 draw against ECCO City Greens on Wednesday to keep their dream of surviving alive. They are still in position 15, but a victory tomorrow could see them overtaking Miscellaneous who host ECCO in Orapa the same day. Before their game against ECCO, GNT were still reeling in shock following their Coca-Cola Cup exit after a 2-0 defeat.
