Police IX defeat Bears in Shell Softball League

The match started on a low note with both teams beginning cautiously. Bears' top one inning bore no fruit with all their batters being taken out successively. Police shot to a 2-0 lead when they took to the bat in the bottom one inning. A single home run by their first batter Waitse Abel thrust them into the lead before they added another run just before the end of the inning. Police contained their opponents in the next two innings to keep the scores at 2-0. In the bottom third, Phibion Tawina added another run for Police before Moemedi Teke and Diketso Gaborone capitalised on a blunder by their opponents to make it 5-0. It was an overly fruitful inning for Police and, at that stage, they seemed to have killed the tie as a contest.

But Bears came back fired up in the bottom four inning as they displayed newfound resilience.
