FRANCISTOWN: Last year’s Makgadikgadi Golf Open champion, Bolokang Podise defended his title in Sowa over the weekend. Podise marginally finished ahead of Selebi-Phikwe’s Leroy Pearmain who was tipped to clinch the challenge after strings of successful results lately.

Podise beat Permain by one shot over 36 holes. He finished with a 78 and 76, for a total 154 gross while Pearmain finished with 76 and 77 for a total of 153 gross. Shane Grengor finished third in the A Division.

Podise, who acknowledged the strong challenge from Pearmain, proved unbeatable on a golf course he calls his hunting ground.
