FRANCISTOWN: It has been many moons since the restless Botswana Football Association (BFA) endeavoured to pull a plug on a circus-ridden Premiership season, but the association’s nightmares continue to gain complexity with every attempt to push the switch.

The play-off match between rivals, Township Rollers and Mochudi Centre Chiefs was expected to end a long-standing issue over which team will emerge the league champions. However the controversy-ridden encounter, which was played at the Francistown Sports Complex failed to produce the winner.

Controversy was written all over the encounter from the onset. Chiefs walked out from the dugout with seven players for the warm up while their opponents, who had already taken to the field, had a fully-fledged squad. Scores of hardcore supporters from both sides turned up. It was clear that the encounter, which started under a dismal atmosphere, was not destined to last until the 90th minute.
