Phiri-led group to appeal Leburu's ruling

Former BMC chairperson Sonny Phiri and his group will appeal the recent dismissal of its application by High Court Judge Justice Leburu.

The Phiri-led group, through attorney Duma Boko, sought the court to declare that the team belongs to the supporters and not the company, the Botswana Meat Commission.

Lawyers from both sides spent the better part of their submissions arguing the applicant's right to be heard in court. Dineo Makati, representing the commission, argued that Phiri has no authority to file the case. She said the applicant is not a registered entity.
