Zebras' coach, Colwyn Rowe is getting a salary of P62,073 per month, cabinet minister Moeng Pheto told Parliament this week.

Pheto added that the outgoing Under-23 coach David Bright is earning P10,000 per month plus a winning bonus of P3,000. He said the payment was according to Bright's letter of appointment. The minister who is in charge of Youth, Sport and Culture was answering a question from Mahalapye East MP, Botlogile Tshireletso. He said that Bright is going after he delayed in signing a contract given to him by the Botswana Football Association (BFA). "It is understood that Major Bright has a contract with Township Rollers, which puts him at the same position as coaches who coach at team level," he said. He said the BFA intends to revert to an allowance agreement instead of paying Bright a monthly salary. "The BFA subscribes to the view that a coach of the Under-23 must be fulltime and this is why the association is soliciting sponsorship and this has been brought to the attention of Major Bright," he added.

The minister explained that according to BFA, the new agreement of P800 per day in camp, P250 cellphone allowance, P250 transport allowance and P30,000 winning bonus was agreed with the coach after he insisted he would continue his job at Rollers.
