Pearmain continues to punch above his weight

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Teenage golf sensation, Leroy Pearmain continued to punch above his weight when he won the annual Central Open here over the weekend.

Pearmain won the two-day competition by five shots, beating veteran golfers Shane Granger (senior) and Sean Shields. Pearmain was an overnight leader with four shots and managed to hold on to the lead despite the tough competition.

Pearmain told Mmegi Sport that it was his first time to win the Central Open and having achieved the milestone means he can sweep the board in the country. The victory comes hard on the heels of Pearmain's triumph in the Club Championship held on May 19. During the Club Championship, Pearmain was a clear victor beating Granger and Sipho Abueng.
