Panthers test leaders in basketball league

FRANCISTOWN: On-form leaders, BDF V face a stern test this evening when they take on impressive debutants, Panthers at the University of Botswana (UB) Courts in the women basketball league. BDF V have collected maximum points from the four games they have played so far.

Their main challengers for the title are defending champions Police and Panthers. Police gave BDF V easy points recently when they failed to dress up in time for the came. The two sides are still favourites for a 1-2 finish and another match-up in the National Championships, though Panthers might spoil the party for Police if they continue to slip-up.

In mid-table, seasoned campaigners NIIT Ravens should be too good for Relics and newcomers Splinters. They have however already lost a crucial game against the Relics who are rebuilding after losing a good number of their players to Panthers. The NIIT girls are fourth with five points. Debutantes Splinters are struggling in their debut season and are yet to win a match.
