Palapye United pin hopes on inexperienced coach

PALAPYE: Newly-promoted Palapye United have pinned their hopes of survival in the First Division on an inexperienced coach.

Officials at the Palapye side are confident that 33-year-old former Tlokweng United striker, Mosimanegape Kanono, is the man to guide the club in the First Division. This is despite the fact that he failed to save FC Palapye from going down last season after he arrived in the second round. But the omens are not good as Kanono has suffered two defeats in his new job. Palapye United lost 4-0 and 4-2 to TASC and Mahalapye Hotspurs respectively, but the coach and management believe the team is on the right track.

Team manager Mooketsi Samson, said Kanono did well at FC Palapye despite the fact that the club relegated. "We have watched his games and honestly, I believe he arrived late, otherwise, he would have succeeded in saving the team. The relegation only happened on the last day of the league when he had fought hard to win some games under pressing circumstances," he said.
