Palapye to host Kufukan champs

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Kufukan Federation (BKF) Public Relations Officer (PRO) George Tshikare is anticipating a fierce battle when the federation holds its 15th Kufukan Senior Club Championships Palapye Community Hall tomorrow.

The championship would be in a form of team kata and team kumite for males and females, individual kata and kumite. "The championship is expected to be very tough because it is the first championship after the recent All Africa Games held in Algeria," said Tshikare, adding that most of the top ranked athletes in the country are going to compete in the tournament.

He asserted that they expect to see a lot from the athletes who went to the Algeria event. Tshikare was hopeful that they have got international experience to impart to their local opponents. As usual, the rivalry between SSKB Club and their Francistown counterparts may take a new twist, as both clubs want to prove supremacy.
