Pako wins Engen Squash title

Pako Lionjanga won the 2012 Engen Club Championship after a hard fought 3-2 win over Conrad Ntshebe at the Stadium Squash Club on Saturday afternoon.

The closely-contested encounter had to be decided in the fifth game with Lionjanga winning it 12-10, 6-11, 12-10, 3-11, 11-9. The opening set was a balanced affair with score margins staying narrow and could have gone either way.

Lionjanga emerged victorious before Ntshebe came back rejuvenated for the second set. From the onset, he had an upper edge over his opponent as he put up a dauntless fight to level scores. The third set was also a close contest with Lionjanga and as the game neared its conclusion though, Ntshebe managed to raise the pace with often brilliant attacking play and delicate flicks and drops.
