The Botswana Fibre Network (BOFINet) northern zone softball league action moves to Selebi-Phikwe this weekend with teams galvanised by the P100, 000 first prize money at stake.

The league, sponsored for a record P1million kicked off a fortnight ago in Orapa for clubs in the north. For clubs in the south, competition began last month. Of the P1million, P649, 000 will go towards prize money, a sure ingredient for fierce competition.

Botswana Softball Association (BSA) competition secretary, Renny Molefe told Mmegi Sport that the response from the teams in the north has been amazing. There are six women and six men’s teams participating in the league.
