Botswana's flyweight boxer Oteng Oteng (52kg) bagged the country its first gold medal at the All Africa Games (AAG) in Maputo, Mozambique when he defeated his Cameroonian opponent on Friday.

Reports from Maputo said the 21-year-old looked fierce and never succumbed to the hostile crowd in Maputo winning all his bouts to clinch the gold.

The boxer from University of Botswana (UB) boxing club has been in fine form this year having clinched the Zone IV gold and doing well at the Africa Boxing Championships in July. Oteng is the reigning Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) boxer of the year and he was selected by the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) to be part a development programme dubbed 'Road to 2012.'
