Newly crowned Sportsman of the Year Oteng Oteng is confident he will qualify for the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games ahead of the AIBA Africa qualifiers in a fortnight's time.

Five national boxers are in Tunisia for their final training camp. Straight after the Tunis camp, the boxers will battle it out for London 2012 places in the AIBA Africa Olympic qualifiers.

The camp runs until April 26, just a day before the start of the qualifiers. The qualifying tournament will be staged in Casablanca, Morocco. Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) publicity secretary, Willough Kemoen said the boxers would fly to Casablanca straight after the camp on April 27.  Flyweight boxer, Oteng, buoyed by Saturday's accolade at the BNSC awards, believes the team is geared up to fight for places at the London Games. "I think we have done a lot in terms of preparations. We're almost ready for the qualifiers and the last camp should condition us well," Oteng told Mmegi Sport before departure for Tunisia.  The national team recently returned from camps in Mauritius and France as part of the build-up to the Africa AIBA Olympic qualifiers.
