Oseg-Mokoto classic comes to an end

The Oseg-AP Mokoto diamond classic softball tournament hosted by Vikings Club came to an end on Sunday.

The event has been running for three months. BDF XI beat Blue Angeles 14-3 in an all army men final while in the women final, Jwaneng-based Wells white-washed Bears 8-0. The tournament organiser Labbeous Peloewetse hailed the event as a success though there are lessons to be learnt. He said they managed to cover all the three stages of the tournament. The event was hosted to honour the founding father of Vikings Andrew Pusetso Mokoto and raise funds for charity as well as bring softballlers together.

Peloewetse said with funds permitting, they intend to make the tournament an annual event. He said the affiliates' response was also impressive. Twenty-eight of the 30 Botswana Softball Association (BSA) affiliates took part in the tournament. Peloewetse pointed out that Carats women team impressed him because they were aggressive in the right manner.
