The minister of youth, sport and culture, Thapelo Olopeng is hopeful of a gold medal from the Olympic Games which kick-off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 5.

Botswana is sending a team of athletics, judo and swimming. Olopeng told Sport Monitor after announcing the team that preparations for the Olympics have gone well.

“We did not leave any stone unturned. This time around we went all out working together with the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC). Our athletes have been competing in international competitions, registering good times,” he said.
