Off the ring

The year 2011 was remarkable for national team boxer, Oteng Oteng. 'Terrible OT' was named Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) Boxer of the Year, crowned Zone IV champion before winning gold at the All-Africa Games in Mozambique. Just last weekend he was named best boxer at the National Championship. Here the soft-spoken, hard punching pugilist answers questions about his life outside the boxing ring

Mmegi Sport: What is your favourite place outside the boxing ring?
Oteng: Home, I just enjoy chilling home with my friends when I am not training. I do not go out very often.
Mmegi Sport: What is your favourite holiday destination?
Oteng: Mahalapye, I feel so relaxed when I am there.
Mmegi Sport: Which book are you currently reading/last read?
Oteng: None, I have not read a book in a while.
Mmegi Sport: What is your favourite food?
Oteng: Give me phaleche (pap) and seswaa any time.
Mmegi Sport: Who are your heroes or people who inspire you?

Oteng: My coaches, Master Luza at club level and Khumiso Ikgopoleng at the national team. They have achieved a lot in boxing and competed at the highest level. They are an inspiration to a lot of young guys like me and they encourage us a lot.
