*As Sechele wins double in weight-lifting

Seteven Obotseng was the centre of attraction as he astutely combined skill and humour to win the middleweight category during the Botswana Body Building, Weight lifting and Fitness Federation (BBWFF), championships held at SSKB on Saturday.Like an eagle descending on its unsuspecting prey, the lanky lad sprayed his hands apart pushing his head down and thus encapsulating various muscles to produce a muscular man. He was the  fans' favourite as female fans screamed, while men cheered. Thus when he was announced the winner , more confirmation cheers ruptured through the hall.  But Gontse Sechele could claim the competition's best performer after he won twice in the same competition scooping the heavyweight title and coming out as the overall winner of the competition.

The overall category which excluded the ladies triggered a lot of attention as the men's endurance was thoroughly tested. Sweating from head to toe, the muscular men showcased their well-groomed bodies to the small crowd which attended the event. Edward Maloiso won the U-21 category and pocketed P2,000. In the lightweight category, Mabuta Ndana beat four other contestants to pocket a P2,000 first prize and muscle supplements. In the ladies category, Olga Julca shone through beating the other two constants with her younger sister Anna coming second behind. The winner Julca, said in an interview after the competition that she was not only happy to be the winner, but that it was also good for one's health.Meanwhile, the light-weight winner, Mabuta Ndana from SSKB, who has competed in South Africa coming third in April this year has called on sponsors to support the sport. BBWFF secretary general, Alex Rankgwe lamented the lack of sponsorship for their sport.
