Nyamutambo's emotional farewell

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Hundreds of sports lovers converged at the Selebi-Phikwe Stadium on Wednesday evening at a memorial service to pay their last respects to the late Nico United goalkeeper, Chrispen Nyamutambo.

The moving service led Nyamutambo's former coach, Madinda Ndlovu, to weep uncontrollably.

The crowd heard how Nyamutambo, born on 8 July 1978, met his fate after he borrowed a vehicle from a church mate to travel to Zimbabwe. Relating events hours before the eccentric goalkeeper's death, a friend, Wissnage Nyasha, said he lent Nyamutambo his vehicle on Tuesday 30 December 2008.
