Notwane case goes before DC

A case in which Notwane are challenging the Premier League Committee's decision to declare former Township Rollers' central defender Thebeetsile 'Mkhari' Raditsebe unduly registered will be heard by the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC) today.

Notwane signed Raditsebe outside the January transfer window after engaging in war of words with bitter rivals, Rollers. Toronto felt that Rollers deliberately delayed the signing of the player and demanded that he should be allowed to play. The PLC declined and instructed that Raditsebe should not play otherwise stern action would be taken against Toronto. Notwane defied the PLC and used Raditsebe in their games against Rollers, TAFIC, BMC and Nico United. The PLC pounced and deducted five points from Toronto and denied key striker Tshepiso 'Sox' Molwantwa the two goals he had scored in the matches. Notwane's publicity officer, James Mooki said they still maintain that Raditsebe was registered properly and must play for Toronto. The PLC administrative secretary, Setete Phuthego, said that they have been invited to today's hearing. But according to sources, Notwane might win on a technicality as the PLC has overlooked a certain clause. If Notwane wins the case, they will get their points and Molwantwa will return to the top of the goalscoring chart. The DC is chaired by Thato Mmile with Chepete Chepete and Solomon Mantswe as members.
