Notwane Appeal 'Defaulter' Ruling

Notwane have appealed against the Premier League Committee's ruling that their player, Thebeetsile Raditsebe, who was recruited from Township Rollers, was improperly registered.

Notwane Public Relations Officer, James "Ace" Mooki said they have filed their appeal with the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC).
The Premier League Committee ruled last week that Notwane should forfeit all points they accumulated in the games they used Raditsebe. Notwane will also lose six goals. Notwane clashed with Rollers, TAFIC and BMC using Raditsebe. Toronto accumulated five points in the three games.
Notwane stand to lose more points after using Raditsebe in their 3-1 victory over Nico United over the weekend. Although there has been a tug-of-war between Notwane and Rollers over the player, Mooki said no team had lodged a protest. He said it was the Premier League committee, which decided that the player was registered after the transfer window had been closed.
Mooki said they would continue to use the player because as far as they were concerned, he was not a defaulter.  He said Raditsebe was duly registered.
Should Notwane lose its appeal up to the National Appeals Board (NAB), the team might find itself in the relegation zone.
Notwane case comes just after the BFA had resolved the wrangle regarding the registering of BDF XI's Zambian striker, Bernard Semakwezi.  Rollers' protest that Semakwezi was a defaulter nearly threw local football into disarray.
Meanwhile, Mooki said they have not started hunting for a new coach to replace the late Joseph "Banks" Panene. The official said they were still recovering from Panene's death. Panene, who was also the Zebras' assistant coach, died recently after a car accident. The Notwane spokesman said they intended to recruit a coach after sometime. Notwane, which is not in the race for the league championship, is currently coached by former goalkeeper Balac Chaenda with senior player Fabian Zulu as his assistant.
